To the Editor:

The attitude toward sex, so celebrated by Kate Bracaglia ("Mature enough to play," DP, 2/01/06) and Penn for Choice, illustrates all too clearly why a women's right to chose is in grave danger.

While they celebrate sexual openness, they fail tragically to see the consequences of such naked promotion of sex and masturbation.

Don't get me wrong; I'm as socially liberal as one can be. But that places me in a small minority inundated by a vast sea of Americans with far less open minds regarding sex and sexual behavior.

Maybe not at Penn, but throughout most of America this sort of behavior is not encouraged.

The debate over abortion is about morals. Penn for Choice and Kate Bracaglia are both tragic heroes in this morality play.

Casting their enemies as sexual libertines, pro-lifers can easily vilify the pro-choice position as the choice of the sex-obsessed, of those who eschew normal monogamous relationships in order to "experiment."

You may present this as a safe alternative to sex (which it is), but in the churches across America, you won't find many sex toy box socials.
