Instead of heading south for spring break, the Penn gymnastics team headed west to Colorado to compete in two intense matchups -- a dual meet on Thursday and a triangular meet on Saturday.

After a devastating loss to Air Force on Thursday, which ended the Quakers' nine-dual-meet winning streak, Penn rebounded on Saturday to defeat Air Force.

The Quakers' score of 192.075 was the highest team score of the season, but it was not enough to topple 14-th ranked Denver.

Finishing in second place against two very strong teams, coach Tom Kovic was ecstatic about the Quakers' performance.

"This was our finest meet of the season," he said. "This is the meet that we've been looking for for a while. Everyone did a great job."

Junior vaulter Becca Aronson was overjoyed with the outcome of the competition and grateful for the experience.

"It was unbelievable," Aronson said. "It was the perfect way to end spring break."
