Thousands of runners crisscrossed the city yesterday morning as they struggled to complete the more than 26-mile course that comprised the Philadelphia Marathon.

The group, which included participants as wide-ranging as Penn students, local residents and international competitors, began its journey from the Philadelphia Museum of Art at 8 a.m. and proceeded through various neighborhoods, including Center City and West Philadelphia.
