No, the Penn and La Salle football teams didn't have one of the most boring games in history on Sept. 18, 1979. Back in '79, the Quakers played their home men's soccer games on Franklin Field, and took on the Explorers in a Philadelphia Soccer 7 contest. Penn won the opener for both teams that year, 2-0, on the strength of two goals by sophomore Chet Kwon. Both goals were assisted by John Baudoin. In the first half, the Quakers came out unfocused, nearly letting up a La Salle goal in the opening minutes. Penn coach Bob Seddon - yes, that same Bob Seddon, current coach of the Penn baseball team - adjusted his players, and Kwon's first tally came in the 44th minute. The second tally came in the 85th minute on virtually the same play as the first - a chip from Baudoin over the goaltender that Kwon hammered into the back of the net. "It's my job this year to get assists," Baudoin told The Daily Pennsylvanian after the game. "Tonight it was Chet's good fortune to be in the right place at the right time."
