One year ago, the attacks on New York and Washington claimed thousands of lives -- 16 of them were Penn alumni.
They were leaders from all walks of life and men and women who brought changes to their world, or more importantly, love to their families.
Here is a small picture of those Penn lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
Mukul Agarwala, an 1984 Engineering graduate and 1990 Wharton MBA grad, was a software research analyst for Fiduciary Trust. The 37-year-old Secaucas, N.J., resident is survived by his wife, Rhea Shome, and his parents of Kendell Park, N.J.
J. Howard Boulton Jr. was an executive MBA graduate of 1994. The 29-year-old Eurobroker employee and New York resident left behind his wife, Vigdis Ragnarsson, son Frederick and his parents who reside in Caracas, Venezuela.
Mark Charette, a 1985 Wharton graduate, worked as an insurance broker at Marsh and McLennan. The 38-year-old Millburn, N.J., resident is survived by his wife, Cheryl, also a 1985 Wharton graduate, and sons Andrew and Jonathan and daughter Lauren.
Geoffrey Cloud, a 1990 Law School graduate, worked at Cantor Fitzgerald. The 36-year-old Stamford, Conn., resident left behind his wife, Mio, son Geoffrey, Jr., daughter Jaclyn, parents Peter and Bette, brother Michael and sister Janet.
Michel Colbert, a Wharton MBA 1990 graduate, worked as a trader at Cantor Fitzgerald. A resident of West New York, N.J., the 38-year-old is survived by his parents Raymond and Marie.
Garth Feeney, Engineering and Wharton graduate of 1995, worked as a corporate developer for Data Synapse, a Manhattan company. The 28-year-old was at a breakfast meeting at Windows on the World on Sept. 11. He is survived by his parents.
Gerald Fisher, a consultant for Booz, Allen & Hamilton, had gone to the Pentagon for a meeting last Sept. 11. The 57-year-old resident of Potomac, Md., held a Ph.D. from the School of Social Work. He is survived by his wife, Chris.
Other victims included Nicholas Humber, MBA '67, Hideya Kawauchi, MBA '93, David Lee, Wharton '86, Michael Miller, Wharton '84, Tu-Anh Pham, MBA '89, Michael San Phillip, Wharton '67, Keiji Takahashi, Law '85, Robert Deraney, MBA '83, and Jeffrey Weiner, graduate Engineering '94.
