The Penn men's fencing team, again sparked by its foilists, squeaked out a 14-13 win over Princeton last night in Princeton, N.J.

The Quakers trailed the Tigers, 13-5, going into the foil bouts, but Jeffrey Breen, Yale Cohen, and Andrew Radu swept all nine matches to pull out the win for Penn.

With the win, Penn improved its record to 11-2 overall, and 2-1 in the Ancient Eight.

Before the 9-0 decision in the foil, the Quakers dropped their epee bouts, 6-3, and their sabre bouts, 7-2.

In the epee, Jim Benson, Scott Eriksen, and Javier Garcia-Albea each won one bout each, while in the sabre, Dan Vincent captured two victories to improve his record to 26-13 on the season.

The trio of Breen, Cohen, and Radu are a combined 101-6 on the season. Breen sports a 33-1 record, while Cohen stands at 34-3. Radu has a record of 34-2.

With the win, the Quakers captured the coveted Penn/Princeton Dual Meet Trophy, which has been going to the winner of the meet since the 1950's.

The Quakers return to competition on Feb. 23, when they take on Penn State, St. John's, and Columbia at Weightman Gymnasium.
