At the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Durham, N.C. early this summer, newly-minted Penn alum Matt Pagliasotti became an All-American in the hammer throw.
Pagliasotti, who, it seemed, couldn't turn around this past season without breaking his own Penn records, finished his stellar career with a sixth-place finish among U.S. throwers with a toss of 199'7".
Steeplechaser Sean MacMillan, who had qualified for the Olympic Trials, was then unable to attend because of a series of injuries and a personal tragedy.
Also this summer, the Baseball and Men's Lacrosse teams both took trips abroad and proceeded to kick European butt.
On its trip to Italy, the baseball team finished 5-1-1 by crushing most of its opponents.
The men's lacrosse team came home completely unscathed from it's trip to the United Kingdom, defeating nearly every team it faced by double-digits. The Quakers capped their 5-0 trip with a 14-4 win over the German National Team.
