M. Track goes to NCAAs
Three members of the Penn men's track team are in Durham, N.C., preparing to compete in the NCAA Track and Field Championships on the campus of Duke University, which started yesterday and will run through the weekend.
Senior Sean Macmillan, who will be competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, won his event at the Heptagonal Championships just over two weeks ago at Franklin Field, but sat out last weekend's IC4As because of inclement weather.
Macmillan's season will continue even past this weekend at this summer's Olympic trials. He qualified earlier this year at the Penn Relays in late April.
Senior thrower Matt Pagliasotti has broken his own record in the hammer several times this year, and he will try to do the same in North Carolina. Pagliasotti also won his event at Heps, and managed a third-place finish in the IC4As.
Freshman middle-distance runner Sam Burley will run in the 800-meters after finishing second at Heps and third in IC4As.
