Christopher Crawford could face up to 300 years in prison and a $600K fine. Christopher Crawford and Albert Bandy pleaded guilty to all charges in a six-incident September crime spree that included the robbery and shooting of College senior Patrick Leroy. Crawford -- who admitted to shooting Leroy -- faces a prison sentence of more than 300 years and a fine of over $600,000. The case went to pretrial conference in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas yesterday. Judge Anthony DeFino presided over the conference which included statements from the defendants, their attorneys and Assistant District Attorney Jodi Lobel, who is prosecuting the case. Crawford and Bandy approached Leroy, College senior Leonard Dunn and Wharton senior Cameron Reilly with a semiautomatic weapon at 40th and Locust streets September 25. When Bandy told Leroy not to flee, Leroy retorted "don't tell me what to do." Bandy then told Crawford to "shoot that motherfucking pussy." Leroy fled the scene and Crawford shot him in the side. For the Leroy incident alone, Crawford could face 95 years in prison and a fine of $110,000. Bandy -- who pleaded guilty to being Crawford's accomplice in the robbery, as well as to participating in the other incidents -- faces a similar sentencing. DeFino will sentence Crawford and Bandy April 7. Christopher "Big Boy" Jones, the third perpetrator, already pleaded guilty February 4 in a similar conference. Jones had been waiting in the get-away car, a 1995 Dodge Intrepid that belongs to Crawford's father. Jones' sentencing is scheduled for March 19. In addition to the Leroy shooting, the conference dealt with five other incidents -- three of which involved members of the University community. Assistant District Attorney Jodi Lobel summarized the events before the court. Defense attorneys Louis Priluker and Lee Mandell had the opportunity to respond to Lobel's statement before the defendants pleaded to each individual charge. Three days before the Leroy shooting, Bandy and Crawford robbed Veterinary student Scott Lewis at gunpoint at approximately 10 p.m., according to Lobel. With their loot of $22, the pair approached 1996 College graduate Beth Tritter and a male friend on the 4100 block of Spruce street. Crawford and Bandy admitted to robbing Tritter with a semiautomatic weapon at approximately 10:45 p.m. When the robbers discovered that Tritter's wallet did not contain much cash, Bandy told Crawford to check her for stashed money. And on the same day as the Leroy shooting, Crawford and Bandy robbed Walking Escort employee Luis Lopez at 46th and Baltimore streets. "Why are you sweating like a bitch?" Bandy said as he robbed Lopez of $16 in food stamps at 11:25 in the morning. Crawford and Bandy pleaded guilty on all counts, including attempted murder, first-degree robbery and criminal conspiracy. Both defendants are currently in custody and will have their mental health evaluated before their sentencings. University Detective William Danks explained that because the defendants pleaded guilty, they forfeited their right to be tried by jury, and "the judge and judge alone will decide the sentences."
