A male University student was robbed on the 4300 block of Pine Street Saturday at 8 p.m., University Police Sergeant Lawrence Salotti said yesterday. Police said a man approached the student and grabbed his left arm, taking $5 in cash from the student's wallet. The student described his assailant as a dark-complected black man of 25 to 30 years and 5' 10" tall. The student said the suspect wore a black knit cap and dark clothing. In an unrelated incident, University Police officers arrested three men for a reported burglary in progress at 3935 Ludlow Street at 11:06 Monday night. There were no signs of break-ins at the housing project, where the burglary was reported. But after checking the records of the three men, University Police discovered the City of Philadelphia had warrants for two of the men. Police assigned one of the men, who is wanted for a failure to appear in court, a new court date. The other man is wanted for several counts and was transported to the City of Philadelphia Warrants Division for processing. In another unrelated incident, police reported a burglary at a residence on the 3900 block of Pine Street at 6:17 p.m. Monday. The complainant, a female University student, said the burglar made off with two gold rings and a pair of gold earrings. In another separate incident, police reported a theft from the University Sportswear clothing store at 3736 Spruce Street Monday at 6:03 p.m. The thief stole a red hooded sweatshirt. The man was described as a dark-complected black man of 5' 8" or 5' 10" with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a three-quarter length grey coat and heading east on Spruce Street. Police also recovered a stolen auto on the 300 block of South 38th Street at 7:47 a.m. yesterday. Philadelphia Police impounded the car. It had been stolen from the jurisdiction of the 16th District of Philadelphia Police on February 12. Also, police reported the thefts of two bicycles secured to racks at the David Rittenhouse Laboratory and the Law School Monday and yesterday.
