Three boys robbed a female student in the 4000 block of Walnut Street Wednesday evening, University Police Lieutenant Susan Holmes said yesterday. Police said the boys, described as being nine, 10 and 13 years old, stole $10 in cash, the student's wallet, PennCard, checkbook and credit cards at 8:25 p.m. The boys were unarmed and inflicted no injuries upon their victim. The student described the nine-year-old as a black male wearing a gray coat and brown pants. She described her 10-year-old assailant as a black male wearing a yellow coat and black pants, and the 13-year-old robber as a heavyset black male, wearing a black coat and black pants. In another robbery incident at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday, police said a Medical School faculty member was robbed at knifepoint on the 200 block of South 42nd Street. The complainant was robbed of $20 in cash by a suspect he described as 30 years old, medium-complexed black man, between 5'8" and 5'10" tall, wearing dark clothing. The robber fled north on 42nd Street after committing the robbery. In an unrelated incident, one man in the company of three other men assaulted a female University student at 12:20 a.m. yesterday on the 200 block of South 40th Street. The men fled the area in a maroon automobile and were stopped by Philadelphia Police officers shortly afterwards. The woman, who was not injured in the incident, did not press charges against the men. In another separate incident, University Police officers arrested a burglar inside the Graduate School of Education Building at 4:37 p.m. Wednesday. Also separately, University Police arrested a man on Spruce Street shortly after he stole $55 in cash from an unsecured desk drawer on the eighth floor of Williams Hall. The man was arrested and taken to UPPD headquarters at 11:51 a.m. yesterday. University Police also witnessed a group of four apparently intoxicated male University students pushing a vendor's cart into the middle of the 3900 block of Walnut Street at 12:26 a.m. yesterday. Police identified, warned and released the students. The incident will be referred to the Judicial Inquiry Office. Also, a University employee reported an attempted auto theft in a lot in the 3200 block of Walnut Street at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday. The would-be thief reportedly broke the car's driver side window and damaged the steering column. In other separate incidents, a bicycle secured to a rack at High Rise North was reported stolen at 1:30 a.m. yesterday, and another bicycle secured to a rack at Van Pelt library was reported stolen 12:03 p.m. yesterday.
