After a 14-year tenure as Nursing dean, Fagin resigned last summer, but elected to stay on until the University appointed a replacement for her. The search committee seems to want to make a career out of searching for a new dean. After more than 15 months, they still haven't narrowed the field to a short-list. We know Dean Fagin is irreplaceable. But the Nursing School is ranked among the top three nursing schools in the country. There are probably dozens of well-qualified nursing instructors out there just waiting for such a great opportunity. Fagin has done a great job. The University should thank her and let her move on.
