Dwayne Bennett, Giovanni Reed and Carlton Bennett, arrested in connection with the August 10th slaying of pre-med student Robert Janke, plead not guilty to charges of murder, conspiracy, robbery, and related charges. W. Fred Harrison, the defense attorney for Carlton Bennett, entered a motion to quash -- an argument which states that the assistant district attorney has failed to prove a prima facia case and that a Municipal Court Judge unfairly held Carlton for trial. Harrison said Thursday that Fisk merely proved that his client was at the scene, but did not prove that Carlton participated in the crime. Harrison said he expects a ruling on his motion in about a month. In a second arraignment hearing, a Municipal Court judge charged Chester Hollman with several charges related to the shooting death of University English student Tae Jung Ho. Lawyers for all four defendants in both cases have 30 days to enter pre-trial motions and to prepare for trial. At the end of the month-long period, the attorneys will appear before a Municipal Court Judge and a trial date will be set. -- Damon Chetson
