An Escort Service driver struck an unattended parked car last Wednesday night, denting a Honda on the 3800 block of Chestnut street. According to University Police Lieutenant Susan Holmes, the driver, whose name was not released by Escort Service officials, hit a parked car at approximately 10:00 p.m. There were no injuries, Holmes said. Stephen Carey, the assistant director of transportation and parking, said the accident was minor and will not affect the employment of the driver. He added that there was little damage to the Honda, and no damage to the van. "It was a minor fender bender with no injuries," Carey said. "[The job retention] is based on the driver's entire service, not this one incident." In other unrelated incidents, $5,300 worth of University computers were stolen from the Towne Building last Wednesday. Two Macintosh computers and three keyboards were reported missing, Holmes said. There were no signs of forced entry into the building. Holmes also said that 36 Great Adventure amusement park tickets were stolen from the 3600 block of Locust Walk last Wednesday. The amusement park tickets, valued at $500, had been stored in a mailbox in the building, and were reported missing with no suspects. An area resident was stabbed on the 4000 block of Market Street Thursday night by an unidentified assailant and was rushed to the hospital. On the way to the hospital his car careened into a pole at 36th and Spruce streets. An 18 speed Huffy bicycle was stolen from the Bicycle Express, located on the 200 block of South 40th Street last Wednesday. The thief, who attempted to escape down the street, was apprehended after the store's video security system alerted the employees of the crime. A man's black clutch purse was stolen from the museum Friday afternoon from a secured room which was forced open. Taken in the robbery was $200 in cash, $800 in traveller's checks and a British passport. Patio furniture was stolen from the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity house on 3800 block of Walnut street. The furniture, stolen on June 22, is valued at $150.
