The walk, which starts at 10 a.m., will begin and end at Clark Park, located at 43rd and Baltimore Streets. After the walk, Thompson said speakers and performers will be on hand for a program in the park which is set to last until 4:30 p.m. Among the speakers will be Omali Yeshitela, the leader of National People's Democratic Uhuru Movement and Akura Njere, the widow of slain Chicago Black Panther leader Fred Hampton. Thompson said performers will include the Empire Ciry Rappers and Battle Bill, another rapper. Also, African drumming ensemble Ancestor Gold Sky will take the stage during the program. Both events are free and open to the public, Thompson said. - Drew Zoller
