"Amichai is the most distinguished Israeli poet alive today," Jewish Studies Professor Yael Zerubavel said last week. "He has read his poetry at the Library of Congress and the Kennedy Center, and has taught at the University of Jerusalem, the University of California at Berkeley and New York University." Amichai will read some of his poetry in Hebrew in Williams Hall today from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. today and a reading and discussion will be held at the Hillel Foundation at 7:00 p.m. tonight. The discussion will be in English. Both events are open to University faculty and students. -- Damon Chetson
