"Basically our goal is to start a dialogue on campus and to get people to start thinking about what is war and what is peace," said organizer Kate Baldus. She said it will also address student involvement and apathy in issues like this on campus. Speakers in the hour-and-a-half long rally will include Jim Fine an advisor in the Office of International Programs, George Gerbner, a professor in the Annenberg School for Communication, Alan Nelson of the Friends Yearly Meeting and Marie Bloom of Act for Peace in the Middle East. The "basically non-partisan" rally will end with an open mike session where interested students will have a chance to express their own views, according to Baldus. -- Drew Zoller
