The survey, which received input from the Graduate Student Associations Committee, the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly, the Graduate and Professional Women's Organization, and the Office of University Life, was approved for mailing last week by the Council of Graduate Deans. Some of the questions asked by the survey include: "How is your relationship with your adviser?", "Are you satisfied with your department's requirements?", and "Is your stipend high enough?" According to Biomedical Ph.D. candidate Debra Kreiss, who helped organize the survey, the results from the survey should dramatically help meet many of the graduate students' concerns. "There has never been a survey of this breadth before," said Kreiss. "The results will be computer tabulated and the information will be distributed to the appropriate offices at the beginning of next semester." The survey should take 20 to 30 minutes to complete and be returned by mid-November. -- Ed Miller
