65 teams from mid-Atlantic and southern universities debated whether "the United States should substantially change its trade policy in one or more of the following countries: China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan." Each team researched specific economic studies which they felt would best support their opinion. And according to Amy Fisher, Vice President for Public Relations and Alumni Affairs, the high finish was pleasing but not unexpected. "These guys are excellent debaters who we expected to do very well," she said. "We always go to the final round at this tournament. They're carrying on a fine tradition of doing well at the Madison tournament." -- Elie Landau
