The bills already passed the Senate last November. Researchers and doctors who support medical research using live animals, including University Veterniary Professor Adrian Morrison, are supporting the bills. In January, several members of the Animal Liberation Front -- an animal righs group that wants to end all research using live animals -- broke into Morrison's Vet School office, stealing paper and computer disks and writing slogans including "cat killer" on the walls. Animal rights groups have consistently targeted the University, and have stolen several animals from University laboratories. This summer, Michael Winikoff, an animal rights activist from Washington, D.C. was convicted of stealing two lab rats from a University psychology lab. -- Steven Ochs
