The book, sponsored by the Philomathean Society, will stand at College Green this afternoon and will give students and faculty the opportunity to write their favorite quotations. According to Lara Nicolayevsky, first censor of Philo, the book -- constructed from wood planks and muslin -- will be a marker of the University community's present views of society. "[The book will] represent the mindset of the student population and the University community as a whole into the nineties," College senior Nicolayevsky said. Nicolayevsky added that she encourages "any students from any corner of the University" to contribute a quote to the book. Student and faculty who would like to participate in the project should bring the quotes on slips of paper with their name and the author's name to College Green from noon to 3 p.m. today. Members of Philo will be collecting the slips and transcribing them into the book. The completed "Philo Book" will be on display in Van Pelt Library later this year. -- Michelle Filippo
