"We wanted to show that the women's Greek system has been around for a hundred years and is going strong," said College senior Sue Wrubel, an organizer of the event. "We wanted to show that we are proud of what Penn women have been doing, especially Greek women." Sponsored by the Panhellenic Council, the casual celebration was originally scheduled to take place on College Green. But the event escaped cancellation when shelter was found at Skolnik's. Complete with two large cakes and balloons, the sorority sisters said they were enthusiastic about the current system and said they were happy to celebrate the anniversary with the dozens of people at Skolniks. No further events acknowledging the century mark have been planned by the Council. Stephanie Desmon
