College Republicans | Strong leadership in troubled times
· October 29, 2008, 5:00 am
For years, John McCain has proven that he is a different kind of politician - one who puts his country first, before his party, himself or any other consideration.
He's not afraid to stand up for what he believes in, even if it means going against his own party or even a popular president. He's proven this time and again with his actions - not just his words - from his refusal to support sending troops into Lebanon in 1983 to his open rebuff of Bush's failed Iraq strategy more than 20 years later.
It's all too easy to forget that the world is still an awfully dangerous place. We simply can't afford to have an inexperienced, naive leader who requires on-the-job training. John McCain has proven time and again that he has the judgment and experience necessary to guide our country safely through these difficult challenges.
Through good times and bad, Senator McCain has maintained his faith in the things that have made our country grow and prosper: a free market, low taxes and controlled government. The government has grown more than 40 percent over the past eight years; John McCain knows how to clean it up and bring it down to size.
Throughout his career in the Senate he has fought against wasteful pork barrel spending and corrupt lobbying deals, such as the crooked Air Force tanker deal with Boeing. Furthermore, McCain knows that raising taxes on either individuals or companies will be the surest way to finish off our already wounded economy.
Unlike Senator Obama, McCain will be able to successfully offset the tax breaks our country's families and businesses need with the spending cuts necessary to pay for them. In these tough economic times, it's easy to blame the same policies that have helped our economy to flourish in the past.
John McCain will focus on long-run economic success for our country, rather than short-term market jitters and reactionary politics. As we maneuver our way into an ever-uncertain world, we need someone who will forge a truly new path for our nation. Barack Obama claims to be this candidate.
But change will not come from someone who votes with the party line 97 percent of the time, as Senator Obama has done. Change will not come from reverting to outmoded and failed redistributive economic policies in times of economic uncertainty, and it will not come from a West Wing run by a leftist incarnation of Karl Rove.
Change will not come from the election of Obama, someone who is as stubborn in his support of failed policies as President Bush has been of his own. Certainly, an aggressive reimplementation of the Carter administration's disastrous policies represents a change, but really now, what kind of change is that?
Be forward-thinking in your choice, and choose someone who will truly guide our country down a new path. Regardless of your party affiliation - or lack thereof - I encourage you to vote for someone who will bring a real change to American politics.
Take it from me - I wasn't even a registered Republican until this election.
Vote for someone who will stand with his principles through thick and thin, even when it means bucking his own party. Vote for someone who will refuse to have a Karl Rove-style political office in his White House. Vote for someone who will put honor and duty before left or right. Vote for someone who knows how to stand up and fight in the best interests of our country.
On Nov. 4, put your country first and cast your vote for Senator John McCain.

Certainly, an aggressive reimplementation of the Carter administration's disastrous policies represents a change, but really now, what kind of change is that? You know carter, that commanding communist. Hey asscunt, who do you think started dismantling highly regulated American business model in a push towards deregulation? Carter. Why? Inflation was a problem, so the thinking was that encouraging competition would bring down prices. Ole' ron continued the policy. But he didn't start it. So go throw yourself off harnwell you small dicked, asian girl fucking (they luv tha white cuk cause it's a status symbol) shit head. Btw, nice job posing infront of some AZN builing cunt in your facebook pic. "Take it from me - I wasn't even a registered Republican until this election." You're class of 11 so I'm assuming that it wasn't even possible for you to register, faggot.

I see you all have not lost your fight : GOOD! Because we have a lot to do. You! (the American people) are going to have to take back control of your elected government at every level, and set your government back on the right path of service to you, and the greater good of the World. Barack Obama and the democrats are your best hope of doing that now. Tell your family, friends, and everyone you know to support them as best they can. Because the Bush McCain vote fraud, vote cheating, vote buying, vote manipulation machine is already hard at work to cheat you again. And we all know what a disaster that has been the past 8 years of Bush McCain. Barack Obama and the democrats will need all the power you can give them at every level of government (Federal, State, County, and local City elected governments). Obama and the democrats will have an enormous mess to fix for the American people, and the rest of the World. A mess caused by the corrupt Bush McCain administration. You see, starting back in 2000, and before 911, it was mostly the Republican governors, Republican legislatures, and county elected Republican officials that conspired with the corrupt Bush McCain administration to raise college, and university tuitions by the fastest, and highest rate increases in American history. Some state tuitions went up by as much as a WHOPPING! 30% in one year. The reason the Bush McCain administration did this was to force struggling working class kids into the military to pay for the sudden jump in tuition. Which was forced on them by the corrupt Bush McCain administration, and their corrupt Republican Governors, and republican controlled state legislatures. See, Bush McCain had plans to get us into all these immoral, foolish, criminal, and unnecessary wars from the start. So they could use these wars to seize power, and later to get reelected. But, for their evil plan to work they needed more volunteer soldiers struggling to pay for an education whose blood they could spill to help them seize more power. Remember Bush McCain's "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!" theatrics. The exploitation, and lost lives of these finest Americans is despicable, disgusting, immoral, corrupt and criminal. And it makes me SICK, and ANGRY! You will have to vote for Obama, and the democrats in overwhelming numbers to overcome the Bush McCain vote fraud machine. Vote early if you can. Then help your fellow Americans cast their votes now, and on through election day. Vote for Obama, and the democrats like your life, and the lives of your loved ones depends on it. Because it does. You will not survive 4 more years of "Let Them Eat Cake" Bush McCain, and their republican allies. Just look at the mess we have now. You can fix this mess with your votes for Obama, and the democrats. And REMEMBER, no matter which of us may stumble or fall, the rest of you must continue to surge forward for Barack Obama, and the democrats, and for your-selves most of all. The children, and the World are counting on us. It's in your hands now. And I know you will get it done. God bless all of you. JACK SMITH - WORKING CLASS... :-)

a leftist incarnation of Karl Rove ? Are you kidding? The type of despicable, fear-mongering, and racially charged rhetoric taken straight from the Karl Rove playbook has been adopted by too many of McCain's surrogates. Furthermore, it is a tactic that Obama and his people could have easily adopted but noticeably refrained from doing so. They could have (as some argue they should have) absolutely blasted Sarah Palin's ignorance of the salient issues of our time and of our past (as shown by her infamous answers to Katie Couric's questions regarding Supreme Court Cases, the role of the Vice President, and her opinions on global warming, I could go on), and thus her absolute lack of the intellectual capacity necessary to be the President of the United States and leader of the free world, into scaring the American people of a possible Palin administration, that is one battered 72 year old heartbeat away from becoming a reality if Americans do not choose with their head on November 4th. The endorsements that Barack Obama has gotten from former insiders of the Bush administration such as Scott McClellan and Colin Powell, and other respected Republicans is a testament to the viability of his message that while we are a battered nation, we can move beyond these vicious political games that are being played and do what is best for the American people. The campaign that Obama has run has not been without its blunders, but the value of his nuanced arguments as compared to the rash, from the gut reactions from the Republican party, that is far too influenced by Karl Roves and Steve Schmidts, is something that this country needs if we are to maintain our standing as the world's economic superpower and supreme protector of democracy.

Congratulations Harry! You can successfully parrot all of the GOP talking points without demonstrating any independent thinking. Really well done. This is typical of the "balanced" view you will get in the mainstream media, that is giving equal time to a drone from each side to recite the same party line developed by election consultants in the campaigns. The difference between the Obama and McCain campains is that one has embraced optimism and discussions of policy while the other has embraced smear tactics and character assassination. One candidate is being driven by a grass roots movement, while the other is the beneficiary of the same old dirty tricks and machine politics. Ultimately, George Bush Republicans like Harry Jarin are on the losing side of history.

Your arguments about John McCain are unfortunately outdated as he's proven himself to be the exact opposite of what he once was. It seems that McCain realized people were sick of the way things used to be done (his way) and can't even keep a consistent campaign message. I doubt whether he would be offering his most recent change message if it weren't so blatantly obvious that that's what the people wanted and find appealing about Obama. He is inconsistent and if he runs the White House the way he ran his device, immature campaign and makes choices based on the judgment that lead him to pick Palin...I'll make sure I'm at the polls canceling out your vote.

The youth of America must think of the future for themselves, their children, and nieces and nephews. Study up on the PLO and what they do then decide would you let them protect and care for any children in your family? If someone hangs around a certain group repeatedly what do you think of them and their values? How do you decide what people you prefer to socialize with? Think about all of this and consider the options and choices you can lose if you pick wrong for this country. I am a very concerned Grandma who does not believe people just because they say they'll do something. I look at what they have done which with Obama his record shows(of what we're allowed to see) that he mostly follows the lead of others and does not make decisions on his own most of the time. When he does decide it is usually to give money to organizations that he has helped before.

I read both articles and this one mentioned(attacked) Obama 4 times. The other one (Penn Democrats) dealt with issues. Typical of McCain's campaign.
