· September 5, 2008, 5:00 am
Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader will speak at Penn later this month.
Nader will deliver the keynote address, titled "Social Justice in the Post-Bush Era," at the School of Social Policy and Practice's centennial celebration, according to a University press release.
The speech will take place Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. in the Zellerbach Theatre.
The school's centennial celebration will be a year-long series of events, including special lectures, books about the school's history and the formation of a new scholarship.
"For 100 years, the School of Social Policy and Practice has produced a generation of 'thought leaders' - clinicians, agency leaders and policymakers," Dean Richard Gelles said in a statement.
"Ralph Nader is an effective social-change agent - and we are able to create social change because of the commitment of our students, faculty, programs and research," he said.

This is a great opportunity. I wish I lived in PA. After looking beyond the ugly picture the mainstream media has painted of Ralph Nader and doing my own research as to the real man and what he has accomplished as a citizen of our country, I am inspired. By the way, Pennsylvanians are the only people who are privy to the Bonusgate scandal. Nobody in the rest of the country has even heard about it. Ralph states how we've become so accustomed to Ã?rationalizing our own futility,Ã? but that by organizing, it is only we, as citizens, that can make the change that we want to see in our government. I despised politics until I learned about Ralph Nader.
