AlliedBarton guard allegedly stole laptop

An AlliedBarton security guard has been arrested and charged with theft and receiving stolen property, according to Deputy Chief of Investigations Mike Morrin of the Penn Police. The incident marks the second time since November that an on-campus AlliedBarton guard has been arrested.

Between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 14, Randolph Mayzck, 21, allegedly took a student's unattended laptop from the lobby of Steinhardt Hall, where he was on duty, Morrin said.

Penn Police did a consent search of Mayzck's house and recovered the computer and returned it to the student on the evening of Dec. 14.

Mayzck was immediately fired after AlliedBarton learned of his arrest, AlliedBarton spokesman Alan Stein said.

Mayzck was arrested on Jan. 15 based on evidence from video surveillance. The arrest took place a month after the incident because it took a while to get an arrest warrant approved by the district attorney, Morrin said.

Mayzck had no prior criminal record and underwent a background check and drug screening prior to being hired by AlliedBarton, Stein said.

Penn Vice President for Public Safety Maureen Rush condemned the guard's actions.

"We are disappointed that this former AlliedBarton employee chose to exercise poor judgment and compromise the integrity of his position," she said.

Another incident involving an AlliedBarton guard occurred in the middle of November, when a guard was fired after he was arrested for allegedly exposing himself to a student.

I am surprised that an Allied-Barton Guard would steal a computer as their hands are usually full of penis. In the future they should be guided on masturbating prior to work so they do not expose themselves to students or steal their property. My confidence is really high on this outfit, NOT!

Well I wanna know why the hell a student would leave there computer unattended! This is an Ivy-league school people are supposed to be smarter!

I just love how a few can mess up and the whole group is bad. For example; A certain president that got us in the war in Iraq, the USA is now a bunch of INFIDELS!!! Or some radicals of some religion or group causes chaos and the whole group is now terrorists! Most people in Allied Barton are just working a 9 to 5 trying to survive just like the rest of you. Low pay, long hours and no respect returned, like people with the a rent a cop view I come in and do my job and go home to my family, yes I like my job. But dont think for a sec that I will jump in front of a bullet for you or run down a crook. My job is to observe and report and supply first aid. Next time you see a guard, leave them alone and let them do their job. A day you dont have to file an incident report is a good day, and I get to see my family again.

I am not surprised. I have been making Allied aware that my husband has serious behavioral issues. He's been having relationships with various employees and client employees and they don't seem to care. I suppose when they are embarassed before clients they will realize the extent of his issues - compulsive masturbation, extremely poor judgment, and compulsive lying. They have a Roving Acct Mgr in the Delaware office that allegedly was arrested for beating up her own daughter. (I can't wait to show up to her hearing!) That's not your security. That's your MANAGERS of security!

Allied Barton is full of mess. They didn't try to publish that the guard who allegedly stole the laptop reported the laptop to his supervisor before he took it home. They didn't say that he wrote in the company's log book that he found the laptop and would have to bring it back on his next shift the next day. They didn't put in that he forgot laptop (after working a 16 hour shift) and HE sent THEM to his house to go pick it up . Now did they. Allied need to watch what they publish before they go ruin young men's lives and reputation. How do I know this? Because I'm his wife!
