The Division of Public Safety has issued a crime alert in response to a robbery several weeks ago.

Officials say a robbery occurred at about 11:20 p.m. Oct. 31 outside of Brownie's Bar on South 38th Street. The victim was then forced to withdraw $400 from his ATM account, officials say.

One robber is described as between 20 to 25 years old with a thin build, medium to dark complexion and a goatee.

A second robber is described as in his late teens or early 20s with a medium-build, medium complexion and short hair with long sideburns.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Penn Police at (215) 898-4485.

For the record, the Division of Public Safety had asked the editorial staff at The Daily Pennsylvanian on 11/15/06, to post the crime alert in its entirety, after DPS officials had collected all of the available information from the preliminary investigation. DPS is soliciting the assistance of ALL members of the Penn community in apprehending these suspects. The highly abridged news brief, which lacks the essential information necessary to assist the University of Pennsylvania Police Department, was the decision of the DP editorial staff.
