April showers may bring flowers, but they make for a damp Spring Fling.

Clouds, rain and temperatures in the 60s are being predicted for Friday, but Fling organizers say they are prepared for whatever the weather brings.

All performances in the Quadrangle are scheduled to continue regardless of the weather.

But the forecast is not good, NBC 10 meteorologist Doug Kammerer said. "Friday, we're going to see rain showers."

Kammerer said a cold front will come in on Saturday to make it "rather rainy and quite chilly." It will be cloudy both days, he added.

College junior and Spring Fling co-Director Makeda Kefale said that students should be excited for Fling, rain or shine.

"The stages are prepared to keep going. We'll put down wood chips on the green areas," Kefale said.

The only possible disruption to Fling activities could be the shutdown of inflatable games in the Quad.

Kefale said that the inflatables would likely be shut down at the first sign of rain because they run on electricity. She added that event staff will make the decision on whether to turn them off.

No matter what the weather brings, Kefale said she hopes that students will enjoy themselves during Fling.

"The show must go on," Kefale said.

The threat of bad weather did not deter almost 2,500 students from buying tickets to the annual Fling concert on Friday night, featuring rock band Of A Revolution.

All available tickets had been sold yesterday, but about 50 to 100 more will be on sale for $30 on Friday afternoon.

Matt Mizrahi, co-chairman of Social Planning and Events Committee Concerts and a Wharton and Engineering senior, said the concert will go on, rain or shine.

"There's no rain date -- unfortunately, OAR doesn't have time in their tour schedule," Mizrahi said.

Mizrahi added that the stage in Wynn Commons is covered, so rain shouldn't affect the band's performance.
