How to find parking

Permits for the five student parking lots around campus can be obtained through Campus Express. Prices range from $425 for a school-year evening parking pass to $1,768 for an annual 24-hour pass.

Students in fraternities and sororities can sometimes arrange parking through their individual houses.

On campus for just a weekend? Try looking for parking along Pine Street in the low 40s. You will need good parallel parking skills, but the spots are usually free.

If you frequently park in metered spaces on Walnut or Spruce streets, think about buying a Parking Authority Smart Card so you don't have to keep searching for quarters.

Don't have a car but want to get off campus? Consider signing up for PhillyCarShare or Zipcar, both of which have a number of locations near campus. Zipcar requires that members be 21 or older, but PhillyCarShare will rent to students 18 and over. Compare rates: Zipcar has a $50 annual fee, and PhillyCarShare charges $125 for a full year. See their respective web sites for more details.
