Summer just got more exciting for students sticking around Penn — they may find themselves rubbing elbows with Trevor Noah and the rest of the crew of The Daily Show.
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will cover the Democratic National Convention from Penn's Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Annenberg Center Live announced Tuesday. The crew will film shows at Penn from Tuesday July 26 to Friday July 29, and the coverage will premiere nightly at 11:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.
Penn students can get tickets to attend the tapings through a special lottery, which will grant 800 students — 200 for each taping — guaranteed seats and “VIP entry,” according to the Annenberg Center Live press release. The link to enter the lottery is can be found on the Annenberg website.
Tickets for the general public are also free, and can be requested on the Daily Show's website.
“The University of Pennsylvania is proud to welcome The Daily Show to our campus during the Democratic National Convention. We hope visitors, students, and local residents will enjoy the show and be part of this exciting event,” Executive Vice President Craig Carnaroli said in a statement.
This summer will be the second time The Daily Show has traveled to Philadelphia. In 2000, the show came to Philadelphia to cover the Republican National Convention. The Daily Show will also be setting up shop in Cleveland for a week this summer to cover the Republican National Convention.
