
Rapper Wale tweeted Wednesday afternoon that his next sneaker collaboration will involve the Penn Relays, the oldest track and field competition in America.

Wale, born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, is signed to Maybach Music Group, which was founded by Rick Ross and includes artists like French Montana and Philadelphia's Meek Mill. His music includes "No Hands" with Wacka Flocka Flame and Roscoe Dash and "Matrimony" with Usher. He also joined Amy Schumer as one of the celebrities in attendence at President Barack Obama's gun control announcement yesterday.
The Washington D.C. native has previously done work in the City of Brotherly Love, partnering with VILLA, a clothing retailer that also works "to improve our community through community service, educational initiatives, anti-violence programs, and economic investment," according to its website.
The rapper's other recent activity in the sports world includes work for the ESPN show First Take, where his song "Every Word Great" will be played on tomorrow as a special intro to the show.
