Out of all American colleges and universities, dear old Penn raised the 10th-highest amount of money.
The University netted $517.2 million in funds, according to an annual survey conducted by the Council for Aid to Education.
The top fundraiser, Stanford University, pulled in $1.63 billion. Taken together, the top 20 schools raised $11.6 billion, equal to 28.7 percent of the $40.3 billion raised by all American institutions of higher education.
Rounding out the top five fundraisers after Stanford are Harvard, University of Southern California, University of California, San Francisco and Cornell. Six of the eight Ivy League universities are included in the top 20, along with five state schools.
