Two suspects were arrested in connection with a robbery with a gun at the intersection of 42nd and Chestnut streets Thursday night.
According to the Division of Public Safety, the two suspects — who are both dark-complexioned males — fled the scene in a black four-door Honda Accord. They were arrested by Penn Police less than two hours later after being identified by the victims.
None of the victims were affiliated with the University.
In response to the robbery, a UPennAlert was issued at 9:12 p.m. to the Penn community. Another UPennAlert was issued at 9:25 p.m. advising people to avoid the area until further notice and use caution.
Another UPennAlert was issued at 9:52 p.m. saying that it was safe to return to activities in the area of 42nd and Chestnut streets.
The investigation is still ongoing.
