The Nursing School continues its trend of selectivity.
Nursing admissions decisions were sent out to the class of 2014 Friday. Approximately 20-percent of the nearly 500 applicants were accepted, according to Dean of Admissions Eric Furda.
Applications have increased 26-percent since last year.
As with Penn's other undergraduate schools, the Nursing class of 2014 will be the most selective ever, Furda explained.
Unlike other applicants, however, nursing students do not have to wait until April 1st to find out whether or not they have been accepted.
Penn notifies the Nursing applicants of their admission status over a month before College, Engineering and Wharton applicants because other nursing schools send decisions in late February.
“We don’t want to be at a competitive disadvantage,” Furda explained.
